The Australian Government has announced that it will no longer be providing rebates for rainwater tanks or greywater systems under the National Rainwater and Greywater Initiative. Rainwater tanks or greywater systems purchased after 10 May 2011 will not be eligible for an Australian Government rebate.
Householders may still apply for a rebate for rainwater tanks or greywater systems that were purchased on or before 10 May 2011. However all applications must be received by the Department of Sustainability, Environment, Water, Population and Communities by 10 November 2011.

LIVING VICTORIA WATER REBATE
The Victorian Government’s new Living Victoria Water Rebate Program rewards Victorians for their efforts to be water efficient around the home, garden and small business by providing rebates on a range of water efficient products and appliances. Rebates are available for products purchased and installed between 1 July 2011 and 30 June 2013.
Rebates are now also available for small businesses connected to a reticulated water supply that have 20 or less employees to improve the water efficiency of their business. Small businesses are eligible to receive a one-off rebate of up to $2000 for the purchase and implementation of a range of products, appliances and services as set out in an approved schedule. Small business rebates are available for products purchased and installed between 19 July 2011 and 30 June 2013.

SOUTH AUSTRALIA WATER TANK REBATE
You can apply for up to $200 for a new standalone rainwater tank with a capacity of 1000 litres or more which is not connected to household plumbing.

WESTERN AUSTRALIA RAINWATER REWARD
Each year around 51,000 litres of water could be collected from a 125m2 roof area and used to supply part of your household's water needs. By plumbing in a rainwater tank, you can help save our precious water and reduce the stress climate change is putting on our State's water supplies. The Rainwater Reward Program is a water efficiency program offered by the Corporation for residential and non-residential customers in the Lower Great Southern.
The program is available to all scheme water users in the following towns: Albany; Cranbrook; Denmark; Frankland; Kendenup; Mount Barker; Narrikup; and Walpole.
If you are a property owner and you purchase and plumb in a rainwater tank for internal use, (such as clothes washing and toilet flushing), between 1 November 2010 and 30 June 2013, you can apply for one of the following Water Corporation Rainwater Rewards:
for a new rainwater tank* that is plumbed in has a reward of up to $1000 or the cost of the tank and plumbing - whichever is the lesser amount;
OR
for an existing tank* to be plumbed in has a reward of up to $500 or the cost of the plumbing work - whichever is the lesser amount. (eg. if costs $200 to plumb in the tank, you will receive an equivalent amount);
OR
for a new rainwater tank* to replace one that is already plumbed in has a reward of up to $500 or the cost of the rainwater tank - whichever is the lesser amount. (eg. if tank costs $200, you will receive an equivalent amount).
